Since the brand name is the figurehead of a company, it was natural for John Jameson and his successors to do everything possible to maintain the true excellence of our whiskey distilling tradition - they sold the whiskey barrel by barrel to their business partners who were then bottled themselves, sealed and labeled. In theory, everyone should benefit from this arrangement. In practice, however, a handful of greedy merchants added our precious whiskey to the water to increase their profits, thereby jeopardizing Jameson's longstanding reputation as a quality brand. In 1963 the decision was made to take the success into their own hands and to carry out all of Jameson's filling, closures and labeling independently.
Jameson Crested pays homage to the first drops that found their way into the bottle on Bow Street. The Irish whiskey is a tangy blend of pot still and grain whiskey, the aging process of which is significantly influenced by the sherry casks, which is noticeable in its fruity character as well as in its strong spiciness and fine sherry notes. The gentleness typical of the brand through triple distillation comes into its own particularly well.
