The Laphroaig Scotch distillery was founded in 1815 on the Hebridean island of Islay, Scotland, by the brothers Donald and Alex Johnston and has since then produced sought-after high-quality typical Island whisky creations.

After many changes of owners over its lifespan, Laphroaig is currently in the possession of the American Japanese Beam Suntory group.

In addition to the popular ex-Bourbon casks, as well as the aforementioned European oak barrels, the Laphroaig distillery uses a quarter cask barrel, which gives the whisky its special touch. The spirit is non-chilled filtered which adds depth, texture and taste.

This whisky has secured numerous international awards. A gold medal in 2013 from the Beverage Tasting Institute, a gold medal in 2013 at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, a silver medal in 2013 at the International Spirits Challenge, and a silver medal in 2013 at the International Wine & Spirits Competition.
