Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban Highland Single Malt 1 l

This fabulous Highland whisky from the Glenmorangie Distillery became a real premium malt because of its special wood finish.

The Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban 12 Year Old spent the last phase of its maturation in ruby port casks. Thus, the single malt Scotch has a very intense, dark hue even though no colourant was used.

Its smell is very complex and shows aromas of port wine, spices, citrus fruits like sweet oranges, candied dark fruits, sandal-wood and dark chocolate. On the palate the same complexity goes on.

This dram has a very smooth, sweet, thick but nonetheless powerful and voluminous body. Many flavours that can be smelled are to be tasted as well. So the dram is constructed of dark fruits, spices from the casks, dark chocolate, more fruits and a hint of mint. The finish is long, warm and fruity.

The Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban 12 Year Old is a product from the high stills that are very characteristic of the Glenmorangie Distillery.

Because of their design, the produced alcohol becomes very smooth and clear. After the distillation the spirit was left in ex-bourbon casks for ten years.

Afterwards, the special finish in ruby port wine pipes took further two years. Especially those last two years added a lot of colour, aroma and flavour to the whisky and made it rich and complex.

The name Quinta Ruban is Portuguese and points to the casks that were used for the maturation. Quinta can be translated as vineyard and Ruban refers to the dark grapes that were basis for the port wine.

The Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban 12 Year Old is part of a collection, which is called the extra matured whisky range and altogether consists of three expressions.

Furthermore, the Glenmorangie Lasanta and the Glenmorangie Nectar d’Or are part of this range.
