Jim Beam White Label Bourbon Whiskey 1 l
The Jim Beam White Straight Bourbon is the most famous whiskey from the American state Kentucky
Jim Beam is one of the best-selling bourbon brands in the world and made the state Kentucky famous for its whiskey. The Jim Beam White Bourbon, which is also known as the White Label, is a straight bourbon whiskey.
Its smell is very gentle with a sweet note of vanilla, a smooth touch of maize, cereal aromas and a whiff of honey. On the palate the vanilla note goes on. Furthermore, it shows sweet nuances and the flavour of charred oak. The wood has a spicy and peppery character, which is leading throughout the whole finish as well. Additionally, a mellow sweetness is to be found during the medium long end.
The Jim Beam White Bourbon is a Kentucky Straight Bourbon. In order to be straight it needs to be produced in the United States of America, more than the half of the used grains needs to be maize, the alcohol content of the new make (the spirit right after the distillation) cannot be higher than 80 % and when it enters the casks not higher than 62.5 %, it has to mature for at least two years in new, charred oak casks, it must be free of additives like for example colouring and it must be bottled with at least 40 % alcohol. This is how a bourbon becomes a straight bourbon. But for the team of Jim Beam this is not enough.
To produce an extraordinary straight bourbon the minimum maturation period is doubled, so that the whiskey spends four years in new casks. Those casks are made of American white oak and were treated with fire. The charring opens the structure of the wood and caramelizes the wood sugar.
The history of the Jim Beam Bourbon Whiskey started with a German family that settled over to America in the 18th century. The family name of Bφhm was changed to Beam and the production of whiskey started in 1795.
Since then, many decades have passed and today it is already the seventh generation of the Beam family watching over the spirit production.
