The pleasing Jefferson Kentucky straight Bourbon Whiskey is a small batch artisan Whiskey and is the creation of the father and son team Tray and Chet Zoeller. The very approachable Whiskey is currently the flagship whiskey and is produced by Kentucky’s McLain and Kyne distillery and is matured in metal warehouses. Small batch means that only about eight to twelve different aged Bourbons are used to blend the final product. The very hot temperatures which are typical for this region are responsible for the most intense flavor of this Bourbon as well as for the recognition value of the attractive aroma. This heat gives you a pleasant intensity especially the taste of vanilla. Jefferson’s is made of a mashbill of 30% rye, 60% corn and 10% malted barley. The casks are only lightly charred and the Whiskey is matured for about six to ten years and ensures an easy to drink Whiskey. Ideal starter’s Whiskey for beginners and should be served either neat or on the rocks. The Jefferson’s also makes a good addition to coke and to an old-fashioned cocktail like a Triple Crown Julep.
