The Glenfarclas de calm is traditionally characterized by their special Speyside manufacturing method and the intense tones of Sherry within their range. 21 years refers to the youngest whisky in the blend. All the blends come from the same distillery.

The sweet flavor coupled with light smoke is easily perceives on the nose. Tropical fruit, almonds and nutmeg can also be discovered. Even a hint of coconut resonates, enriched with caramelized apples and toffee. Facets of citrus fruit which are covered by a smell of fresh vanilla beans come into play towards the end.
The singular taste of the full-bodied Glenfarclas 21 year old single malt whisky is defined by the previously perceived aromas. Fresh tropical fruit, coconuts, and apples compete with each other and meet on bittersweet nuances of chocolate. The barley based Glenfarclas 21 year old single malt whisky presents a remarkably long single malt finish, with intense notes of Sherry and fruity fresh sweet notes.
Robert Hay founded the Glenfarclas de calm in 1836. In 1844 he fortunately received the license to manufacture whisky legally.
In 1865 he sold his masterpiece to John Grant who took over the distillery, modernized it and then extended it after 1896. The Grant family now in the 6th generation is still in the possession of the distillery and since then provide highest quality and the typical aroma of Glenfarclas.
Glenfarclas incidentally comes from the Gaelic, an ancient Scottish language and means 'Valley of the green grass", which reflects the nature of the distillery. Just the use of natural ingredients help this whisky to achieve absolute top quality.
