Meukow VSOP Cognac 1 l
This superior Cognac is a balanced blend of several fruity eau-de-vie (the spirits official full name), which create an especially round and smooth tasting and easy to drink Cognac
The top note of the early summer Meukow VSOP Superior Cognac is welcomed with a blend of fruity and floral notes such as candied oranges, white peaches, apples, plums, raisins and roses. In the heart of the Cognac is powerful leather and liquorice that noticeable merge in the long finish with coffee and elegant vanilla flavors.
The history of the Meukow distillery dates back to the year 1862 when the Russian Tsar Alexander II sent the two brothers Auguste-Christophe and Gustave Meukow from Silesia to France in order to obtain a large amount of high quality Cognacs for special occasions. Inventories however were not large enough. The Meukow brothers then asked the Czar to build a Cognac distillery in France itself. For a long time the Tsar was the only customer of Meukow brothers. Word of their quality of their products spread and they were soon supplier of the "House of Lords" in London England.
Today the Meukow distillery takes pride in the fact that their products are also supplied to the White House in Washington USA and are also very well received in Europe and Asian. Meukow is among the world's most famous distilleries and suppliers and is distinctively recognizable by the Puma logo wrapped around the elegant bottle. The house of Meukow flourished and is still a family run business with a solid and successful history. The house of Meukow has taken smaller Cognac houses under their umbrella to solidify their market share in the top-end Cognac industry.
The award-winning Meukow VSOP Superior Cognac is a blend of several fruity eaux-de-vie and is aged for at least one year longer than typical VSOP cognacs and then what the law requires. VSOP meaning very special old pale. Superior meaning that the percentage of older Cognac in this bottle is higher than a regular VSOP. For the production of Cognacs Meukow only the finest grapes of the Ugni Blanc are picked in the grape harvest, which are then passed into the fermentation.
The Ugni Blanc grape satisfies all the requirements needed for Cognac production disease-resistant, low in sugar and high in acid. The distillation process takes place according to the traditional pot still method, passing through the wine twice. Subsequently the mature phase of brandy takes place in small oak barrels, which give the Meukow VSOP Superior Cognac its lovely clear amber glow with gold tints and also contribute to the formation of the unique taste of the outstanding Meukow VSOP Superior Cognac. The high quality of the Meukow VSOP Superior Cognac was awarded several times internationally.
