Glenfiddich Malt Masters Edition Single Malt 0,7 l

This whisky is not just a special edition but rather a milestone in the Glenfiddich Distillery’s history, because it was the first double matured single malt in its family.

The Glenfiddich Malt Master’s Edition has a nice ruby red colour and a smell that is full of sherry, vanilla, spices, cocoa and some of the typical fruitiness. On the palate the dram shows a quite strong spiciness and oak aroma for a Glenfiddich whisky.

Furthermore, is has flavours of tobacco, cherries, plums, toasted almonds and a mellow bitterness from the sherry casks. The medium long finish is silky and soft. Aromas of spices, liquorice and fruits fade away and leave a desire for more.

The Glenfiddich Malt Master’s Edition matured in traditional oak casks and in ex-sherry casks. It is the first whisky from the Glenfiddich Distillery that finished in sherry casks and thus, it is somehow a premiere.

Because of the second maturing period and the contact with the seasoned European oak, this Speyside whisky has a deep and strong character. It was the Malt Master Brian Kinsman who created this dram. He is the sixth Malt Master of the Glenfiddich Distillery and replaced David Stewart in 2009.

The Glenfiddich Distillery was founded in 1886 by William Grant. Today it is the only single malt producing company that is still owned by its founding family.

It has its home in a village called Dufftown in the north-eastern part of the Highlands in Scotland. The name Glenfiddich is Scottish Gaelic and means “Valley of the deer”.

Thus, the deer has become a trademark of Glenfiddich and is printed on each bottle and every box.

Even though the Glenfiddich Malt Master’s Edition is relatively new on the market – it was launched in 2011 –, it was already awarded for its delectable flavours and deep character:
