The Haig Club Single Grain Scotch Whisky is the reinvention of traditions, as David Beckham describes it

Producing whisky is a long tradition in the Haig family. It can be looked back on about 400 years of whisky distillation and it was in the early 19th century when the Cameronbridge Distillery was built by John Haig. Today it is still the birthplace of premium Whiskies like the Haig Club Single Grain Scotch Whisky.

On the nose this dram has a light bouquet that has fruity notes of apples, pears and lemons as well as hints of oak casks and cardamom. On the palate the oak has a stronger position and is balanced by sweet impressions of vanilla and toffee. Furthermore, slightly bitter tannins from the casks can be detected. This bitterness is fading out towards the end. Therefore, the finish shows mainly notes of spicy oak and nuances of cardamom.

The Haig Club Single Grain Scotch Whisky is the combination of grain whiskies from three different cask types. The spirits matured in first-fill, refill and rejuvenated bourbon casks. The grain whisky itself is known to be of a relatively clear spirit. Thus, the main character is built during the maturation. Overall the flavours appear lighter than those of common malt hiskies.

That is why the Haig Club Single Grain Scotch Whisky is not just a nice sipping whisky but also the perfect ingredient for premium cocktails. And by the way, a bottle with such an exceptional design is catching the eye of every whisky enthusiast. The rectangular flagon, which is of blue glass and has no label, is far from ordinary.

The Cameronbridge Distillery was founded by John Haig in 1824. But John was not the first in his family, who produced whisky. Their tradition of distillation can be traced back to the 17th century. Today the business is owned by Diageo and the facilities at the Cameronbridge Distillery are also used to produce Smirnoff Vodka, Tanqueray London Dry Gin and Gordon’s London Dry Gin.
