Talisker 10 Years Isle of Skye Single Malt 1 l

The Talisker 10 Years Old single malt whisky has its origin in the small village Carbost on the south shore of Loch Harport.

The Talisker Distillery is part of Diageo and was established by Hugh and Kenneth MacAskill in 1830. Today it is the only distillery on the Isle of Skye.

The Talisker 10 Years Old is a complex, smoky Scotch. Its fresh and flavoursome smell has a quite strong peat aroma with a salty impact of the seawater. Apple peels, sweet hints of citrus, lemon grass and seaweed contribute to the harmonious impression.

The body is full, strong and warming with the clear flavour of smoke. Barley malt and a sweetness of dried fruits build the counterpart to the peppery peat. The finish is still voluminous and lasts long. Aromas of pepper, chilli, barley and malt are still perceptible in the end.

Talisker is a company that tries to preserve the old traditions and wants to ensure the highest quality of their products. In 1960 the distillery was struck by a heavy blow of fate, when the whole production facility was destroyed by fire.

But for Talisker this was no reason to quit the business. Two years later a copy of the original facilities was built up and the production went on as if it had never stopped.

The Talisker 10 Years Old is part of the Classic Malts Selection, which was established in 1987 and widened in 2005.

In the beginning it consisted of six different whiskies and each of them had unique characteristics that where representative for certain Scottish whisky regions. The 10 years old from Talisker was chosen to represent the Isle of Skye.

This Talisker Scotch is definitely a premium whisky that was awarded in various international competitions. The list below shows the won medals of recent years.
