The Speyburn distillery was designed by Charles Doig and was founded by John Hopkins in 1897 in a valley between Rothes and Elgin in Scotland. The Speyburn distillery is still the only distillery that uses the pure, crystal clear water from the untouched Granty Burn. Due to space limitations the distillery was built up through trees and drum malting’s rather than floor malting’s were adopted. The distillery in now owned by Inver House Distillers. This bright amber-colored Whisky is matured in American Oak ex-bourbon barrels and has won many recent international awards.
