This fantastic Solera rum reveals intensive sweet and fruity aromas, with notes of fruits, caramel and honey blended with wooden nuances. Pleasant notes of tobacco and a lovely aroma of sweet bourbon whiskey follow the sweet fragrance mixture.

In the mouth the Ron Centenario Rum Fundacion 20 years at first bursts with caramel notes on an oaky foundation, before strong flavors of exotic fruits and sweet vanilla tackles the mouth. The taste adventure continues with hints of cinnamon, tobacco and a touch of cocoa and completes with the smoky caramel note that carries into the long, smooth finish. Costa Rica is the home country of Ron Centenario and many premium-class rums have made their way from this country to all over the world. A breathtaking landscape, paradise beaches and a diversified flora and fauna represent the soul of Costa Rica. About 35 % of the country consists of nature protected landscape. Not only does the tropical climate attract thousands of tourists every year, but it is also ideal for the growth of sugar cane. Due to the warm temperatures, the sugar cane plants consist of a higher sugar content, which makes the Costa Rican rums very sweet.

Ron Centenario ages all their rums in American white oak Bourbon whiskey barrels.  The Ron Centenario Fundacion 20 years is aged using the Solera method for blending, meaning the oldest rum is 20 years which is then blended and balanced with younger rums to keep the consistency. The Costa Rican rum selection is plentiful but Centenario is the only one produced from fresh squeezed sugar cane juice. The distillery only uses locally grown and hand harvested sugar cane for the production of its rums. Sweet molasses form the basis of this excellent rum, the character of tastes and color develop during the aging process and finally present an amber-colored sweet and spicy premium class Solera rum.

Ron Centenario Fundacion 20 years is a perfect sipping rum and should best be enjoyed pure.
