Ron Abuelo Anejo Rum 1 l
|Alcoholic strength||37,5% vol.|
The aroma of the extraordinary Ron Abuelo Anejo Rum is sweet and strong but not a moment too dominant. Subtle hints of gentle vanilla and herbs come to light that give the connoisseur the typical Panamanian character.
In the glass the delicious Ron Abuelo Anejo Rum shimmers caramel colored and almost looks like liquid gold - a real luxury for the palate. The taste of the quality Ron Abuelo Anejo Rum presents notes of caramel and nuts which are combined with wood flavors and pleasing fruity strikes.
For consumption the distillers recommend the superb Rum mainly for the pure pleasure, maybe with a little addition of water or ice, or as the mix in favorite long drinks or tropical cocktails.
Both the rich content of 100% pure Panamanian estate grown virgin sugarcane juice and molasses as well as the irresistible sweetness of the aged Ron Abuelo Anejo Rum makes the spirit so popular. Ron Abuelo Anejo Rum matures in the region between North and South America, namely in Panama.
An outstanding yield of prime sugar cane makes this region so popular for sugar production and Rum production. Had the Valera Hermanos distillery not decided to settle in that exact area in 1936 we might never have come into the exquisite pleasure of the Ron Abuelo Anejo Rum.
Varela Hermanos is the creator and producer of the brand Ron Abuelo Rum and is based in a fertile and lush valley with a tropical climate in Panama. It is also Panamas top Rum producer. This Ron Abuelo distillery is currently producing four different highly acclaimed award-winning Rums. Panama is a thriving and growing nation, increasing by approximetly 8% annually.
The Ron Abuelo distillery has its headquarters about 15 kilometres away from the Pacific coastal city named Pesé. This spirit company is the global market leader in Rum sales, and also achieves the highest Rum sales locally. The distillery uses only locally grown and hand-harvested sugarcane for the production of its many luxurious Rums.
Due to the different climatic conditions Valera Hermanos used the cane in two ways. From December to April (during the dry season) solely freshly pressed sugar cane for the fermentation is used. During the wetter months however the fermentation is based on a mixture of freshly squeezed sugar cane and molasses. Molasses is the thick dark sticky by-product of sugar production.
After the alcohol is distilled and concentrated further it is then stored for a period of seven years at the tires. This maturation process takes place in old bourbon barrels instead of American white oak which have been put forward for the solera system. The Rum is then passed through the various stages of Solera before bottling by the Master Blender into the fine bottles.
