Monkey 47 Schwarzwald Dry Gin 0,5 l
In the nosing of the unusual Monkey 47 Dry Gin spicy juniper notes and fresh herbal notes are especially dominant. These two notes are accompanied by a combination of earthy tones and wooden aromas which immediately associate appropriately with the name the Black Forest. In the tasting as with the nosing spicy juniper aromas and fresh herbal aromas are also very dominant. Overall the curious Monkey 47 Dry Gin flavor is very strong and varied with notes of sour citrus, herbs and a peppery spice. In the finish of the award winning Monkey 47 Dry Gin a dry, light wood flavor unfolds on the palate which is very long lasting.
The Gin production in the Black Forest Distillers Distillery takes place in the city, in the Black Forest town of Loßburg. There Alexander Stein and Christoph Keller developed the complex Monkey 47 Dry Gin in 2008 which they then brought onto the market for the first time with a circulation of around 2,000 bottles two years later. Since the interesting Monkey 47 Dry Gin developed into an internationally successful Gin, it scored an astounding 93 points from American "Beverage Testing Institute" in 2014 and won the gold medal at the "World Spirits Award" in 2011. The splendid Gin is prepared according to a recipe that has been developed after 1951 by the Black Forest loving Brits Montgomery Collins, the legend of the living and the Gin. The fact is that today 47 different botanicals are used to produce the tasty Monkey 47 Schwarzwald Dry Gin. These botanicals include coriander, cranberries, almond, bitter orange, lemon, iris, sage, ginger, nutmeg, spruce tips, honeysuckle, blackberries, clove, lavender, citrus, hibiscus, liquorice, cardamom, cubeb, chamomile and Ceylon cinnamon. A special feature of the Gin is that the 36-hour maceration does not take place in a conventional grain distillate, but in a distillate made from molasses. Molasses is the thick, black and sticky by-product of sugar production. Before the complex Monkey 47 Dry Gin is sold after the distillation process it still receives a three-month storage in an earthenware barrel.
The heavy Gin is sold in interesting and stylish, traditional and brown apothecary jar which has a cork stopper. The label of the bottle is adorned showing a monkey and various regional ingredients. An eye-catcher here is mainly the Victorian colonial style, which is used for the label as well as on the very interesting Monkey 47 Dry Gin web site.
The well-structured Monkey 47 Dry Gin can be consumed pure, on ice as well as in the form of a classic Gin and tonic. For mixing a Gin and tonic we recommend the use of a 28 Drinks Tonic Water or Fever Tree Tonic Water as the taste experience can be experienced best with them.
