One naturally associates the popular blended Whisky brand, the "famous Grouse" first and foremost with the high end Glenturret distillery. Too bad really, because this very special Glenturret Sherry single malt Whisky from the Scottish Highlands is another real masterpiece produced by the popular distillery. 

The Glenturret distillery decided to use only the best and spiciest Sherry barrels that could be found on the market to finish off the exclusive Glenturret Sherry single malt Whisky. Barrels that would reflect both in the external appearance and in the taste were selected.

On opening a bottle of the full-bodied Glenturret Sherry single malt Whisky, the nose is treated to comforting sweet nuances defined by freshly baked bread and caramel coated biscuits. A soft touch of malt also resonates which excellently harmonizes with sounds of exotic cinnamon. Overall a soothing, warm and sweet fragrance.

Once the intoxicating Glenturret Sherry single malt Whisky is in the mouth exactly those beautiful scents continue and convince with flavors of caramelized butter as well as mature, boiled up and juicy fruit. A few discreet sounds of sulfur also show up which provide the some pep in the taste, combined with a soft, yet very full feeling. 

With a moderately long and rich finish, the seductive Glenturret Sherry single malt Whisky again replicates the nuances of sweet shades of chocolate and caramel. Sulfur is difficult to detect and even the creamy feel of butter flies. A clear, unambiguously definable finish is produced which hint at thoughts of warm desserts. Hosh distillery was founded in 1775 and is the oldest, still-active Scottish Whisky producer. “ Hosh” means “foot” in Gaelic and refers to position of the distillery, that being at the foot of the Ben Chonzie Mountain. In 1875 the distillery was renamed to the now famous name Glenturret, which is due among other things to the Loch turret; a source the exquisite soft spring water used. 

Today Glenturret is part of the "Edrington group", which became very famous for the distilleries of Macallan and Highland Park. Glenturret Sherry is one of three exclusive editions in the new Glenturret 2014 range. The range includes the Glenturret Peated single malt Whisky and the Glenturret Triple Wood.
