In the northern part of the Highland region of Scotland is the home of the world-famous Glenmorangie distillery which has been responsible for the pleasurable drinking experience of their customers, friends, and fans since the year 1843.
The small town of Tain has been producing exquisite spirits since 1700. The pioneers and brothers Matheson however undertook the daunting task to produce legal and above all, excellent whisky for sale. Henceforth they founded the Glenmorangie distillery in the buildings of a former and very old brewery.

The historical distillery draws its mineral rich water from the Tarogie spring which is surrounded by pine trees. Ageing of the Glenmorangie Tarlogan single malt takes place in ex-bourbon and virgin oak casks. Tarlogan was the king of the Picts from 653 to 657, and this fine whisky was names after him. Pictish kings ruled in northern and eastern Scotland.
