The classic British Jinzu Gin with a Japanese twist, offers a fruity bouquet adventure full of vigour and exciting  freshness. The taste of the Jinzu Gin convinces with a soft and rounded nature, with floral and compelling fruity notes of cherry, citrus and Junmai Japanese sake. Sake is a fermented Japanese beverage made from rice. The finish of  the intriguing gin-sake hybrid Jinzu Gin is very long lasting and lingers on the palate with a pleasant, soft, creamy and luxurious feeling.

In 2013 the entrepreneurial English bartender from Bristol - Dee Davies beat hundreds of other competitors and easily convinced the jury and won the  Diageo "Show Your Spirit" competition with her  idea for Jinzu Gin. Dee Davies lifelong passion after visiting Japan at the age of 16 was to experiment with flavour. With this wonderful  victory Dee Davies got the opportunity to realize her  dream  to develop and commercialize  Jinzu Gin. After about 17 months of development and experimenting with  various combinations, the singular  Jinzu Gin could be introduced to enthusiastic consumers in 2014. The name Jinzu is the name of a Japanese river flowing through Toyamo where thousands of cherry trees grow along the meandering river bank.

Dee Davies decided to only use  a small number of Botanicals in her Gin as she felt that “less is more”. In addition to traditional Botanicals such as spicy  juniper berries from Tuscany, angelica root,  and coriander seed from East Europe,  Dee Davies chose to add exotic botanicals like cherry blossoms and Yuzu (an Asian citrus plant) to use for her fabulous Gin creation. Unlike traditional Gin, the Jinzu Gin distillate does not come from corn,  but from the Japanese rice wine Sake. This makes the Jinzu Gin the most unusual and unique Gin in the world. The Jinzu Gin is now prodly part of the Diageo’ Reserve Brand portfolio alongside world famous brand names like Johnnie Walker.

The Jinzu Gin is distilled in Scotland in a traditional copper pot still. The Gin is then dialuted with de-mineralised water to be botteld at 41.3%.

The Japanese influence of Sake is reflected in the design of the striking bottle of Jinzu Gin. Beautiful  branches of Rose cherries decorate a typical Japanese Birdcage and the glass has a  matt transparent finish. Overall, the glass bottle of the  Jinzu Gin  leaves a very high-quality impression and arouses the interest to consume the Gin.

The recently launched  Jinzu Gin can be consumed pure as well as in a mix like tonic  water, specifically  a 1724 Tonic Water or Fever Tree Tonic Water due to its unique flavour. The creator and brand ambassador of Jinzu Gin also recommends a dry Martini with a touch of plum wine or in a colourful cocktail.
