In the 16th century the Spaniards in Mexico had begun to produce alcohol from the tasty blue Agave plant. This product was known as Tequila and the Spaniards were probably unaware as to how successful this product would become.

Today Tequila is drunk all over the world and enjoys highest popularity. The production however requires dexterity and a long wait. The necessary resource of the blue Agave plant can be readily found in Mexico. 

Tequila however requires an 8 to 10 year maturity period and in addition only removed Agave hearts can be used for the production of Tequila.

El Jimador salutes the local harvesters for their learned skills and dedication and passion to the crafting of this traditional Tequila. 

Once harvested, the pina – agave heart – is steamed in stone or brick ovens for a day and are then crushed to remove the juice – the mosto. The mosto is placed into open tanks so that airborne yeast can begin the fermentation process before it can be double distilled and then bottled.

El Jimador Blanco makes a unique cocktail, the Orange Agave:

• 4 cl El Jimador Blanco
• 10 cl orange juice
• 3 cl lemon-lime soda
• 1 splash grenadine

The above ingredients are mixed together and served with three ice cubes in a highball glass.
