In the nose of the full-bodied El Dorado Rum 12 year old with rich aromas of wood and a high-quality sweetness that is addictive shines through. In addition notes of mixed exotic fruit, honey and Christmas spices such as nutmeg, cinnamon and cloves are found in the bouquet. On the palate the El Dorado 12 year old is full-bodied and elegant. Vanilla and fruity jam mingle with soft toffee and pleasant spices accompanied by brown sugar, marzipan and oak. Tart nutty notes also merge with charming sherry and tobacco flavors and gives the El Dorado Rum 12 year old its complexity.

The big El Dorado 12 year old is a product of the quality-conscious Demerara Distillers Limited distillery (DDL). The company is headquartered in the South American Guyana which borders Venezuela, Brazil, Suriname and the Atlantic among others. The name of the distillery is derived from the former name of the country, a river in the country and a type of sugar in the country: Demerara.

The distillery company Demerara Distillers Limited was founded in 1760 by several hundred small and large businesses and has been on track to become the international luxury premium Rum producer in the industry.

As a basis for the preparation of the perfect El Dorado 12 year old quality molasses is used. With the help of yeast, molasses is fermented for one day before it is burned continuously in six Continuous Stills. The El Dorado 12 year old is a blend of excellent individual distillates which are fired from metal in wooden Double Wooden Pot Still, Diamond Coffey Still and Wooden Enmore Coffey Still. After a maturing period of at least 12 years in former bourbon oak barrels, a strong character, yellow golden luxury Rum which is very popular among Rum experts is presented.
