At the age of 17 years, young Don Julio González began producing his own Tequila. He spent over 40 years perfecting the craft of producing an extraordinary Tequila at his distillery called La Primavera.

In 1985 his sons created for the occasion of his 60th birthday a premium Tequila named Don Julio. This Tequila was excellent and exclusive and composed of 100% blue weber agave and managed to gain the company international reputation and global fame.

The Don Julio Tequila Resposado from Mexico is made in small batches. A continuous control of the production process guarantees that the Don Julio Tequila Resposado has an excellent quality.

Even today Don Julio González performs this scrupulous controls jointly with his family. A shredder-roller is used to extract the juice from the pina before double distillation in a stainless steel pot still which creates a smoother pure spirit.

The company Don Julio burns all its own 100% pure agave Tequilas. Then the golden-amber Don Julio Tequila Resposado is aged for 8 months in selected casks made of American white oak. Resposado appropriately means “rested”.

This early maturation phase promotes the formation of a meaningful taste which takes the light aromas of wood but mostly brings the agave aroma to light.

Today, Don Julio is one of the best-selling luxury Tequilas in Mexico, if not THE best-selling.
