The home of Courvoisier always strives to produce Cognacs that are made from the perfect grape. The Cognac is a blend from Grand Champagne and Petit Champagne spirits which are both the finest grape growing areas in France. So not only the soil but also the grape and the finishing process is continuously controlled and monitored. The maturation phase takes place in selected French hand-made fine-grained oak barrels and extends over a period of several years. The oak is sourced from the Troncais forest in France. Courvoisier VSOP Cognac is characterized by a bright amber color, which develops the Cognac during its maturation.

The house of Courvoisier has a long established history dating back to 1809 when Emmanuel Courvoisier and Lois Gallos started their business in Paris as traders of Cognac and eventually decided to produce their own Cognacs. Their 200 year old crafting process is still followed today. In 1829 the next generation moved the production to Jarnac in the Cognac region in order to improve their product.

The way of consuming the award-winning Courvoisier VSOP Cognac is a personal choice. Some enjoy it pure whereas others prefer to use the Cognac in an elegant cocktail. For the pure enjoyment of Cognac it should be rested for a minute in the glass to develop its flavors fully and should be served at room temperature. The Courvoisier Master Blender Patrice Pinet calls this process "The Mystical Minute" and describes the flavor display as just too perfect.

In 1984 Courvoisier was granted the “Prestige de la France” which is an endorsement for their quality products and is the only Cognac house to have ever received this prestigious award.
