After its creation in 2011, the Bombay Sapphire East Dry Gin was introduced to some selected cities the USA to test its popularity. The incredible positive  response meant that the Bombay Sapphire East Dry Gin was ready to be made available by Bacardi in 2012 at international airports for travel retail.

The Bombay Sapphire East Dry Gin is produced like his brothers, the Bombay Sapphire London Dry Gin 47% and the Bombay Original Dry Gin 40%, in England. What makes the Bombay Sapphire East Dry Gin  unique is that it has more Botanicals than it‘s relatives. Ten botanicals are used namely: juniper, almond, lemon peel, orris root, grains of paradise, angelica root, cubeb, cassia, coriander seeds and liquorice. An additional two special  Botanicals are added to the Bombay Sapphire East Dry Gin, namely lemongrass and black pepper. These two extra Botanicals give the Bombay Sapphire East Dry Gin its special touch.

The Bombay Sapphire East Dry Gin is distilled in a Carter-Head still. Here the flavours of the botanicals are deployed optimally using a steam infusion method creating a lighter more floral  Gin.

Bacardi attaches great importance to the recognition of its brands of Gin. The Bombay Sapphire East Dry Gin was given an edgy design of blue glass that immediately makes you associate the bottle with a sapphire, specifically the Star of Bombay that is on display at the Smithsonian Institute. The bottle has a slightly darker coloured label, which associates with the dark just before a sunrise in the east, and it also has a picture of the regal Queen Victoria.

The Bombay Sapphire East Dry Gin is best suited for mixing long drinks and heavy-citrus cocktails. The most recommended drink off course is a delicious classic Gin and tonic with a Fever Tree Indian Tonic Water or a Gents Swiss Roots Tonic Water, or an interesting Martini.
