"Pure & rustic" - Bache Gabrielsen XO Cognacs composition makes the Cognac very unique and successful. Two-thirds of the grape contents consist of excellent Grande Champagne, the remaining part translated from Petite Champagne and Fins Bois grapes.

Through this very composition the distinctive Bache Gabrielsen XO Cognac gets its special and bright golden color. In the nose of the superior XO Cognac dried fruit, a hint of citrus and flowers are encased in wooden nuances. Similar well-balanced flavors are perceived in the delicious taste. Sweet fruit is combined with strong floral notes which dissolve in the long elegant finish which is mild and harmonious.

The Cognac producers Bache Gabrielsen is a family owned company with an interesting international development history. The history dates back to 1905 to when the 4th generation family run company was founded. It is said that the then company founder Thomas Bache-Gabrielson had fallen in love with a French woman and from there he founded the Bache Gabrielsen brand.

Thomas Bache-Gabrielson father was an executive at the largest alcohol producer in Norway so Thomas was able to bring a linage of experience from the alcohol industry into his own company. Bache Gabrielsen’s clear corporate strategy has given the company a good and respected name in the competitive Cognac market. The extra old Bache Gabrielsen Cognac is aged in Limousin oak casks for more than 10 years in order to ensure the well-rounded mellow flavour and long elegant finish and dark golden color. Prior to aging the white wine is fermented then double-distilled.
