Appleton Estate VX Jamaica Rum 1 l

The aroma of the Appleton Estate Rum VX is gentle and spicy at the same time. The Rum is ideal for mixing cocktails and long drinks such as a Mai Tai or cola Rum.

In flavor the Appleton Estate VX presents mainly sweet with notes of maple syrup, cocoa and toffee. Fruity aromas reminiscent of banana, apricot and mandarin oranges can be heard. On the palate the rich Rum behaves soft and slightly tacky. A flavoring composition of banana, pecan and nutmeg comes to light. The finish is well-balanced, long and subtle.

Likewise the influence of previous Jack Daniels whiskey oak barrels used to mature the spicy flavor is noticeable. The smoky dark-gold Rum can be enjoyed neat, and tastes delicious once it has been cooled down a little bit. Also a great accompaniment to a good cigar. The medium-bodied Appleton Estate VX Jamaica Rum is a real favorite among young and old consumers and makes every occasion a good figure.

The solid Jamaican Rum VX is one of the top products of the distillery Appleton Estate, in fact it is considered the flagship of the estate. Since 1749 the distillery has been growing high quality sugar cane on their own lands in Nassau Valley of exotic Jamaica. The Appleton distillery is perfectly located geographically with unique weather, a lime-stone water spring and great soil which produces quality sugar cane.

To date the Appleton distillery relies on a time-tested production process and a traditional recipe. The distinctive Appleton Estate VX Jamaica Rum is molasses based. Molasses is the thick, sticky and brown by-product of table sugar production created by boiling and repeatedly re-boiling sugar cane juice to extract sugar crystals. The Rum is distilled in old column stills and pot stills.

The subsequent maturation phase takes place in selected oak barrels which significantly affect the taste and the character of Rum. The final Appleton Estate VX Rum is hand-blended and various distillates all at least 5 - 10 years old are used. The master-blender Joy Spence is the 1st woman master-blender in the world.

The Appleton Estate distillery is the oldest of its kind in its home country and its products are the number 1 seller in the domestic market. In 1916 Appleton Estate joined the company Wray & Nephew who marketed a wide range of exquisite Rum products alongside the Appleton Estate VX. All the Appleton Rums are bottles in the identical pinched waist bottle with a paper medallion. The neck collars and labels are different off course and the color for the VX is red.

The estate is also mindful of the environment and boasts an International Standards Organization Certificate proving that they are embracing sound environmental initiatives.
